We currently have a range of Safety Advisor vacancies for our WA State Government Sector.

Some of the duties include:

  • Assisting with risk assessments, reviewing and updating risk registers.
  • Safety incident consultations and investigations.
  • Reviews of contractor safety incidents.
  • Assissting with review of Safety Management and Safety Improvement Plans.
  • Assisting with the review of Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Work Instructions and Job Safety Analysis.
  • Producing monthly Safety Reporting Dashboards.
  • Collating the Monthly Safety Indicators (MSI) reports.
  • Updating and maintaining the audit schedule for active construction contracts.
  • Undertaking or attending site inspections as required.
  • Risk Assessing and progressing low level safety incidents in the event reporting system (EQsafe).
  • Fulfilling duties as a safety, health and wellbeing business partner, providing specialist support and ensuring implementation of corporate policies and procedures in line with the Departments' safety management systems.
  • Analyzing trends and identifying SHW risks as well as provide insights, reporting, and delivering dependable recommendations to the business and the corporate SHW team.
  • Performing investigations, internal audits and participating in risk workshops for construction as well as at Directorate and corporate levels.
  • Managing activities for assigned areas in the SHW electronic reporting system
  • Providing support, coaching and mentoring to managers, workers, and safety personnel in assigned areas.
  • Attending and contributing to committee meetings and other briefings.

What we are looking for

  • Sound knowledge of safety systems with proactive approach when dealing with issues.
  • Experience in implementing safety, health and wellbeing policies and procedures in line with the corporate safety management system in an organisation with both white and blue collar workforces
  • Experience in carrying out Quality and Safety Audits including preparation of review documentation post audit.
  • A diploma in Work Health and Safety or related discipline (desirable).
  • Formal training and experience in auditing and ICAM incident investigations (desirable).
  • Experience in safety role in a civil construction environment (desirable).
  • Experience in EQ Safe or INX platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management training
