Rate: $82.10 per hour plus superannuation

Fleet Retail Operations Manager

The Fleet Retail Operations Manager assists in the enhancement and implementation across agencies of a retail rental system and a retail rental incentive scheme to foster efficiencies with the State's light vehicle fleet. The role manages the ongoing operation of the State Fleet systems and scheme and provide advice to the Department and client agencies. The role conduct analysis and advises the Assistant Director as required on improvements to the wholesale Fleet financing transaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of systems and processes for a retail rental operation for the State's light vehicle fleet.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of a rental incentive scheme to encourage agencies to achieve better asset management of their light vehicle fleets.
  • Manage the ongoing retail rental operation and the asset management incentive scheme.
  • Provide advice and assistance to the Department and agencies in relation to retail rental operations and the asset management incentive scheme.
  • Conduct analysis and advise the Assistant Director as required on the wholesale fleet financing transaction.
  • Prepare journals for all State Fleet accounting transactions. Undertake monthly reconciliation of assets to accounts. Provide End of Year financial reporting as it pertains to the leasing operations.
  • Participate in and provide technical support to the annual review of residual risk associated with the State Fleet leasing operations.
  • Provide timely commercial analysis and budget advice as needed.
  • Provide lead participation in annual auditing of State Fleet processes, transactions and accounts.
  • Provide monthly AASB-16 Right of Use journals of leased State Fleet vehicles to agencies and support as needed. In collaboration with the Department, provide annual ROU budgeting assistance to agencies.
  • Contribute to the development of the Division's strategic and operational planning.
  • Represent department/State Fleet on committees/advisory groups as required.

Selection criteria

  • Highly developed skills in the use of Microsoft Access database software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Hirer Database associated with the vehicle fleet financing facility.
  • Understanding of accounting and finance systems and processes.
  • High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to understand your audience, have a strong grasp of issues and facilitate debate during negotiations.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics).
